Video of crane collapse on Fort Lauderdale bridge revealed

A video has surfaced showing what happened on April 4 in downtown Fort Lauderdale, when a crane suddenly collapsed on the Southeast Third Avenue Bridge as a number of vehicles passed by.

In the incident, in which a man lost his life 27-year-old construction worker who was on top of a building and fell into the voidseveral cars were hit and their drivers are still trying to recover from their injuries.

The video, recorded by a body camera, shows how the crane fell on a car. Seconds later its driver, named Carol Zinserhe climbed out of the car on his own two feet.

The recording also shows the officers’ first response to the incident, not yet knowing what had happened.

A Hispanic woman is also seen, called Gemmalyn Castillowho was riding in the back seat of the Tesla that was hit first by the frame.

The young woman was crying and bleeding, unable to hold her head upright due to a serious head injury that, according to her lawyers, will have consequences for the rest of her life.

“While she wants to go back to work, she has been diagnosed with brain damage and spinal damage, so that’s not good,” attorney Brett Rosen said.

In the video you can hear the coworkers of Jorge de La Torre, the deceased construction workertelling police how he fell to his death when the crane gave way.

According to reports Local 10 Newsthe victims and their families have filed lawsuits against the construction companies that were working at the time.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the cause of the caida of the crane.
