SV Werder Bremen apparently has the first summer signing on the line. As the ‘Bild’ reports, the green-whites are about to sign US talent Ethan Kohler. The 17-year-old defender is currently under contract with second division side Oakland Roots. According to the report, only the last details have to be clarified with the Californians. Kohler should pitch his tents on the Weser in the summer.

Kohler can play both in central defense and as a six. The teenager with Indonesian roots played in both positions last year. “He is very mature for his age and has the quality to control a game with the ball at his feet”Jordan Ferrell, technical director of the Oakland Roots, is quoted as saying.
