MIAMI.- The Universidad of Los Andes (ULA) deliver the Honoris Causa Doctorate in until a Jordan di Marzo, in recognition of the quality of his work as a singer and composer in a ceremony to be held on June 22 at the headquarters in Mrida (Venezuela).

The request, as highlighted in the letter signed by the rector of the ULA, Professor Mario Bonucci Rossini, was based on the extensive artistic career of the character, who for more than five decades has placed the name of Venezuela high. “With his indisputable contribution to the development of the arts, particularly music, as a pioneer in the fusion of elements taken from the Latin American and Caribbean heritage along with rock, pop and jazz.”
Yordano di Marzo’s career
The Honoris Causa Doctorate from the ULA adds to Yordano’s resume: an architect graduated from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), who won the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence in 2022. A year later, he received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, his native country; decoration that has gone to celebrities such as the fashion designer Giorgio Armani, the tenor Luciano Pavarotti, the Catalan soprano Monserrat Caball, among others.
