Leoni Torres premiered “Cubano” this weeka song that from beginning to end is a tribute to his homeland, its traditions and culture.
Through Instagram, the singer from Camagüey invited his followers, “to everyone who feels proudly Cuban”to share videos on their networks singing the chorus of this song.
The response from fans of his music was immediate and many, in addition to making their videos, praised the singer for dedicating a song to his country with that mixture of pride for being Cuban and nostalgia.
“You left her, but she didn’t leave you. Leoni Torres is also missed on this side”; “If my soul had a voice, I have no doubt it would be the voice of Leoni Torres,” were two of the comments they left regarding this release.
A young couple joined the chorus of their song with the accompaniment of a piano and calling it a “great song.”
Others simply listened to the song while driving their car and sang it as if the lyrics ran through their veins.
Leoni accompanied this song with a video clip that alternates images of Cuba and Miamithat city where so many like him reside, and where Cubanness is breathed.
