Governor Hochul says State Police issued nearly 11,000 tickets and arrested 225 people for drunk driving over Memorial Day weekend.
During the police action, they used alcohol checkpoints, additional patrols and fined drivers distracted by portable electronic devices.
Police officers also investigated 239 accidents, including 58 accidents with injuries, although no fatal accidents were reported.
As part of enforcement, officers also targeted aggressive and speeding drivers.
