In the last week it had with the moderators Joko Winterscheidt (44) and Klaas Heufer circulation (39) gave long faces: They lost to their home broadcaster on “Joko & Klaas vs. Pro Sieben” and as a punishment they have to accompany the coronation of King Charles live on Sat.1.
The next challenges for the moderator duo followed on Tuesday evening. Not only did they meet their absolute fear opponents in a car challenge, but Joko also had to deal with a fear of heights attack – even without height.
Fear of heights in virtual world
► The first game went very badly for the two moderators. In “Kentucky Screams Flip,” a lamp had to be “flipped” when thrown so that it came to rest on the ground. After not only Joko but also Klaas smashed one of the lamps and were not able to achieve success even after seven attempts, the first point went to Pro Sieben after a very short time.
For the second round we went into a virtual world again, in which Joko and Klaas were able to get a point last week. This time the two avatars – Joko with a beer belly, Klaas as a muscle Adonis – fought their way through a VR adventure.
However, that was particularly dramatic for Joko: he should jump over an abyss hand in hand with Klaas. Although this gorge only existed in the virtual world, it scared the hell out of Winterscheidt, who was plagued by acrophobia.
Again and again he screamed: “No, no, no!” Klaas’ impatient explanations that none of this was real did not convince the desperate Joko, who preferred to avoid his buddy: “Don’t push!” Klaas grumbled: “I’m not in the mood that we can’t do it now because of that shit!” At the last moment he was able to persuade Joko and sacked the country point with him.
However, Klaas’ mood was in the basement again shortly afterwards. In the “cut” game against iSchlagersinger Ross Antony (48) and comedian Bully Herbig (55), posters had to be cut together so small that the teammate can just see what it is – the smallest snippet wins.
Klaas tried his hand at snipping – and shortly thereafter mocked Gätjen: “I only have small scissors for right-handers. I can’t cut finely like that, I’m left-handed! I’m pissed!”
Miraculously, Joko recognized a corner of Angela Merkel’s mouth – but Antony and Herbig still got the point for Pro Sieben.

Actor Axel Stein (41) and ex-bachelor Paul Janke (41) have already won five times against the two moderators – and that evening it also looked bad for Joko and Klaas at times.

In the game “Nahverkehr” the team partners had to drive past each other in one car, but with as little distance as possible. Confident in victory, Stein and Janke showed up for the challenge – but were brought in in a dustbin. Nevertheless, the two guests thought their sixth victory was already in the bag when they managed to drive past each other in the car with a distance of just 41 centimeters – but they had not reckoned with Joko and Klaas.
After several smaller crashes, they raced past each other by a distance of just 40 centimeters on their last attempt and thus defeated their feared opponents by the narrowest of margins. Stein was stunned: “You can’t be serious?” While Joko screamed with joy, Klaas threw himself into his arms and punished his opponents with contempt: “Back in your bin!”

But the finale was also waiting for the two – and another penalty if they couldn’t beat their employer Pro Sieben in this one. Gätjen recalled Charles’s coronation on May 6th and Joko and Klaas’ obligation to moderate: “It was considered that the penalty today is: you make two hours out of one hour.”
Joko was already whining: “I have no idea about royal families!” However, his following promise caused jubilation: “If we moderate the second hour, I will drink a shot every time I see a nobleman!”
However, he no longer has to keep this promise of schnapps: In the final, the two managed to defeat “Mr. Pro Sieben” and thus on Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m. they are again provided with 15 minutes of free broadcasting time on Pro Sieben.
