CGO600 Pro, the third model from the manufacturer Tenways could well cause a stir. This “feather” weight of 16 kg surprises with its complete equipment at a very attractive price.

VanMoof being at its worst economically, Cowboy may not have the free way for very long. In the small world of connected electric bikes, a new player wants to do well. It’s Tenways, which seems determined to hit hard with the new evolution of its urban electric bike, the CGO600 Pro. Launched in 2021, following a successful crowdfunding campaign, the young Dutch company unveils a more advanced version of its CGO600. Its promise: to act on the main shortcoming of this connected urban bike: autonomy, without distorting it.

Externally, the “Pro” version broadly resumes the design of the classic version. A closer look will reveal some details that show a certain upscaling and quality. Thus, the front optics are no longer attached to the front, but completely integrated into the central tube, as at Cowboy or VanMoof. With a larger battery, it displays, very logically, 1 kg more on the scale, but still maintains a very reasonable weight of 16 kg. Another distinctive sign, which it shares with its predecessor: an OLED display on the handlebars which provides the essential information (speed, remaining range, level of assistance).

Less than 2000 euros

But where the Tenways CGO600 Pro surprises is in its level of equipment, which is reminiscent, again, of a certain Belgian connected bike. Gates belt, integrated torque sensor, Tektro disc brakes and now a removable 360 Wh battery to extend its range up to 100 km according to its manufacturer, that’s the main thing. This means in eco mode, it will probably be more reasonable to bet on twenty kilometers less in conventional use. The only fly in the ointment on this so far rather interesting technical sheet comes from the engine. With its torque of 40 Nm, the CGO600 Pro may suffer a little on hills, but should do well on less rugged terrain.
In terms of comfort, the new bike from Tenways should not perform miracles since it ignores any suspension system. However, it can count on large 40 mm tires to absorb road vibrations.

Available in black, grey, avocado green and sky blue, the CGO600 Pro has one last essential asset, its price. The newborn of the Tenways family will be sold at 1799 euros, which should place it among the most interesting VAE from a quality/price point of view. He will still have to convince during his test and for good reason, the Tenways knows he is expected.
