A Cuban woman is murdered by her ex-partner in Texas

A 42-year-old Cuban woman was stabbed to death early this Monday by his ex-partner in the city of Irvingin the county of DallasTexas, according to the Texas Police Department.

The victim has been identified as Sucel Cuba Gomez. Her attacker, 44, is named Yunier Aldazábal and has already been arrested by the police.

The press release revealed that at approximately 6:15 a.m. on July 1, police received a call about an incident that occurred in a parking lot on Walnut Hill Lane.

Upon arrival at the place They discovered the victim lying on the ground with several stab wounds.

Although the attacker fled the scene after committing the femicide, he was located by the police inside his vehicle at around 9 a.m. (local time) in a parking lot.

The man was arrested without incident and is in police custody.

Crime reporter Niover Licea stated that Sucel had recently ended her relationship with Aldazábal, who had traveled specifically from North Dakota to kill her.

The woman, who reportedly had recently arrived in the U.S., was the mother of two children, ages 12 and 15. It has not been revealed whether the children lived with her in the U.S. or are in Cuba.

Both the victim and her attacker are natives of the Cueto municipality, in the province of Holguín, where the crime has shocked the community.

Sucel Gómez worked as a teacher on the island and several of her former students have expressed their dismay over the tragedy.

“My teacher, in these cases I am left speechless. I will always remember you as one of the best teachers I have ever had. You filled us with your love and made us grow every day. For each class you brought motivation with the aim of making us feel comfortable,” wrote a young Internet user in a heartfelt post on Facebook.

“You were a teacher, a guide, a friend. Your passing leaves me with great pain. I don’t understand why these things happen to good people. May God take care of you, my love, wherever you are. RIP,” added the former student of the murdered woman.

“My great friend, I still can’t believe how you left us. A great woman, a warrior, full of many goals and dreams. May God keep you in His Holy Glory. My deepest condolences to her family,” wrote another person close to the deceased Cuban.
