There are many studies that show that color influences mood. Psychology, design and marketing have proven this. They can generate different emotions, make us feel calm or happy, and if these colors are also bright and even fluorescent, the sensation could be euphoric and fun.
They know this at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, one of the most iconic water parks in Orlando, Florida, where they are celebrating summer with a very colorful proposal. It is the H2O Glow After Hours, an event where you don’t need to be under the intense sunlight to enjoy the summer.
The party begins in the late evening that Florida offers at this time, that is, at 8:00 pm, and it feels like the stress of long lines has passed and you have the park available until 11 pm to enjoy all the surprises that are added to the regular attractions. But what are these surprises about? During my visit I was able to explore everything that makes the difference and why the experience is worth living.
First of all, the atmosphere looks different and fresh, the light shows throughout the park give the beach atmosphere a touch of energy that invites you to enjoy not only the rhythm of the party music, but also the various gastronomic and cocktail novelties that they offer only during this event. Among them, there is the very creative Chicken Waffle Sandwich, which is a crispy cone filled with strips chicken and bacon; the Chicaglow Dog, inspired by the famous hot dogs from Chicago; the Pork Elote Nacho, which is a crispy cone filled with pulled porkroasted corn and guacamole, among other ingredients, and of course you can’t miss the Mickey Pretzel with colored salt.
It should be said that this event includes some free snacks and there are soda machines for unlimited drinks, but also ice creams and sweets specially designed for the occasion, such as the Bathtub Float, a sundae huge one that comes served in a tub and includes glowing ice cubes.
Another interesting aspect of H2O Glow After Hours is that there are live musical activities on the beach and some of the Disney characters appear on stage, led by the friendly Goofy. This year, in addition, you can rent the cabanas for groups that want to enjoy a reserved area, and for children there are special activities such as drawings with chalk that glow in the dark. Towels are included in this event, there are luminous floats in the famous Castaway Creek, my favorite attraction. lazy river favorite, and neon lights that give a different look to the attractions that, I insist, have much shorter lines.
This event, which has already been held in previous years and adds to the calls forfter hours Disney’s, is a separate ticket and on select dates through August 31, and offers a totally relaxed and different experience from what the water parks are like.
