A 14-year-old boy was injured this Sunday by to surf on top of one of the cars of the 7 train in Queens.
At around 4:30 in the afternoon, the teenager was traveling on a train on line 7 heading south. when his head hit a beam as the train arrived at the 111th Street station.
It is not yet clear whether the minor fell or got out of the car on his own, but he was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
This incident is the latest in a series of incidents, often fatal, related to this dangerous activity that is recorded and shared on social networks.
MTA statistics show there were 450 reports of people riding off, including on top of, trains during the first six months of 2023.
