Honor returns to the mid-range with a new smartphone: the Magic 5 Lite. The brand puts forward a major argument for this model: great autonomy. It promises three-day endurance, verified by DXOMARK.

Today is launched the Honor Magic 5 Lite, which we had been able to take in hand a few days earlier. A smartphone for less than 400 euros that aims to be light and thin, while offering a solid, but classic technical sheet. Honor prides itself on having a model that can be used for three days in a row, with a notable verification entity: DXOMark, a laboratory that measures, among other things, the performance of smartphones (camera, performance, battery).

A promising 5100 mAh battery

The Honor Magic 5 Lite has a large 5100 mAh battery, compared to the 4800 mAh of the Honor Magic 4 Lite. However, the manufacturer prides itself on having a model whose weight has been reduced by 4 grams and thickness by 15%. In a press release, we learn that he has optimized the size of the other components as well as his software to improve the endurance of his product.

DXOMark confirms a battery life of more than three full days “moderate usefor the Honor Magic 5 Lite. On his sitewe see that this model is the first in the ranking of the best smartphones in terms of “battery(which includes range, charge and efficiency).

However, on the individual scores, he is not the first, but is trailing on autonomy at 16 points and is 4 points from first place on efficiency. As for the load, it still lacks 55 points to reach first place. This is explained by a maximum power of 40 W: we are far from the 150 W of the Realme GT Neo 5.

DXOMark has therefore measured an autonomy of three days and two hours, for a full charge taking place in 1h51. You can go from 0 to 80% in exactly 46 minutes and 5 minutes of charging would recover up to 6h14 of endurance.

The autonomy of the Honor Magic 5 Lite measured by DXOMark

The DXOMark company was able to test Honor’s Magic 5 Lite and especially its autonomy, with encouraging measures:

  • Video playback: 10:15 p.m.
  • Music playback: 57:03
  • Video games: 12:57 p.m.
  • Audio call: 27:12
  • Social media: 1:34 p.m.
  • GPS: 10:22 a.m.
  • Camera: 5:15 a.m.
  • Standby: 351h24 (i.e. 14.6 days)

The autonomies measured by DXOMark are above all indicative and try to reflect a classic use of your smartphone. However, let’s wait for the official tests to find out what wood the Honor Magic 5 Lite is heating up.
