WASHINGTON – The American actor Treat Williams, known for playing doctor Andy Brown in the Everwood series, died this Monday in a motorcycle accident, the family confirmed to the specialized media Deadline.

Williams was 71 years old. The accident took place in the state of Vermont, in the northeast of the country.

“As you can imagine, we are shocked and deeply grieved at this time. Treat deeply loved his family, his life and his craft,” the interpreter’s family said.

The state authorities confirmed to People that the accident occurred this Monday around 5 pm local time, when a vehicle hit the motorcycle in which the actor was traveling while making a maneuver.

In addition to his starring role in Everwood, Williams is best known for playing George Berger in the 1979 Milos Forman film Hair, a role that earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

He also worked on “Prince of the City”, “Mulholland Falls”, “Hollywood Ending” and “127 Hours”, among others.
