On Tuesday afternoon, Berlin police officers arrested three young people who are said to have previously stolen objects from a taxi. According to the police, an off-duty officer observed four young men at around 4:50 p.m. as they were conspicuously interested in the parked taxi at the intersection of Berliner Strasse and Bundesallee in Schöneberg.

Shortly thereafter, one of the four youths is said to have smashed the window of the taxi on the driver’s side and opened the door. Then he is said to have stolen objects from the car. The other three were obviously dope. The four are said to have walked to the Berliner Strasse underground station and boarded a train there in the direction of Rudow.

According to the police, the off-duty officer alerted his colleagues, who immediately launched a search for the four young men. The officers then arrested three of the four, aged 16, 18 and 20, in the train stopped by the BVG at Eisenacher Straße station. The fourth suspect escaped undetected.

Among other things, the emergency services found three mobile phones among the young people, two of which are said to have come from the taxi.
