Many companies donate food to Ukraine. Minister Özdemir calls for more help. Why help is so important right now.
That Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) arranged 497 food aid deliveries to Ukraine through its “German Food Bridge” aid project by the end of the year. The total volume of donations amounts to a total of 13,815 pallets, this editorial team learned.

A total of 93 companies and organizations have participated in the fundraising campaign so far.

“The consequences of the Russian attacks on energy infrastructure and agriculture are having a significant impact on food supplies,” Özdemir said. “The farms lack everything, but above all electricity, seeds and animal feed. Especially in the rural areas close to the front electricity essential for a functioning agriculture that produces food for the population.”
Özdemir also thanks the supporting companies in Germany: “I’m the German one food industry and the trade very grateful for the enormous willingness to help. The companies support the people in Ukraine very directly, they ensure their survival.”
