“The management that preceded me delivered zero houses; I am going to leave with the peace of mind of knowing that every day that I was president, inheriting it from (Mauricio) Macri, with the debt with the (International Monetary) Fund, with the pandemic and with war, I gave 85 Argentine families a roof every day”, said the head of state in Catamarca during the inauguration of the first “Casa Propia-Casa Activa” complex in the country that will facilitate access to housing for the elderly.

In the act, he also referred to infant mortality rates: “I am proud” because Argentina “has registered in 2021 the lowest infant mortality rate in its entire history.” “This is what is achieved with active State policies. Sometimes, we do not all think alike. Not everyone feels that obligation to preserve others,” said the head of state in this regard, noting that in the political sphere not everyone feels ” that obligation to preserve others” and stressed that his government has implemented actions for children, youth, adults and the elderly.

accompanied by the governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil; the Minister of Women, Ayelén Mazzina; the head of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz; and the Minister of Habitat, Santiago Maggiotti, Fernández highlighted the pride he feels in leading a “present” State.

“At the end of March we are going to deliver the house 100 thousand, we still do not know where. I am going to leave with the peace of mind of knowing that every day that I was President -inheriting (Mauricio) Macri, indebted to the Fund, with the pandemic, with the war – to 85 Argentine families, every day, I gave them a roof. That will be an immensely happy day for me”, affirmed the President.

Regarding housing, Fernández anticipated that in the coming days he will lead an act in the Salta town of La Poma to deliver housing to 90,000 throughout the country, and compared the construction rates with those of the Macri administration.

In this sense, he commented that in Catamarca, during the four years that preceded his Government, no homes were delivered, while now about 2,000 were built and there are 4,500 under construction. Regarding the inauguration of the Casa Propia property that took place today, he explained how social paradigms have changed and wondered who can consider a 60-year-old person “passive.”

“We no longer have to think of the passive class as the one who waits for the sunset, because they wait for a new day every day to continue enjoying it,” he said. The Casa Activa Program was launched by the President in June 2021, and the initiative provides for the construction of 40 housing complexes integrated into common spaces where people over 60 will be able to carry out educational, sports and recreational activities, while being provided with the access to Day Centers with primary and therapeutic health care, it was officially reported.

The program is carried out jointly between the Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat and PAMI in 23 provinces and 40 municipalities of Buenos Aires, and a total of 3,200 homes are expected to be completed distributed in 100 housing complexes that will be awarded on loan to the beneficiaries. .

The complexes have common and collective facilities, areas for educational, sports and recreational activities, such as a library, swimming pool, grill, orchard, and day centers with primary and therapeutic health care.
