CDMX.- The Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer, assured that next year the health system will be transformed.

“We say goodbye to 2022, some with doubts and fatigue, but we do it with solidarity and joy, because next year the transformation in health will be consolidated. No one is going to give up now, said the singer,” he said in a morning conference accompanied by the President Lopez Obrador.

REFORMA published today that Mexican households spend seven times more on health than the federal government.

During 2021, one of the years hit by the pandemic, households spent more than one trillion 77 billion pesos on health. Meanwhile, the resources allocated to Branch 12 Health in the Expenditure Budget last year amounted to just 145 thousand 414 million pesos.

On the other hand, Alcocer indicated that there has been an increase in Covid cases, although slowly, since what is advancing with intensity is influenza.

“There have been 8 weeks of increase in the number of Covid cases, which are being registered and it is the trend, although it is slower than what other periods have presented throughout this pandemic,” he commented.

“Now in 2022 so far into the season about halfway through the season we can see that we have a more intense influenza season in the Northern Hemisphere than we have had in previous seasons.”

He added that vaccines against Covid-19 and influenza are available to the entire population in health centers.
