Artists and architects come together in the Art with Meaning project

CARACAS.- Within the framework of the second edition of Caracas Design Week (CDW), the firm Own Interiors, the sculptor Gregorio Siem, the GBG Arts gallery -represented by Gabriela Benaim- and the artists Paul Amundarain and Juvenal Ravelo joined forces to present the project on June 4 until with meaning.

“In this second edition of Caracas Design Week we are presenting different activities focused on art, but linked to the design indoor. Among them, an urban intervention to beautify the context where our main headquarters resides (in Caracas) with the artist Paul Amundarain, who made a mural outside the store. However, the main focus of this edition is the project Art with meaning, which is based on mixing art with furniture, which we do together with GBG Arts and the curation of Gabriela Benaim; This proposal also adds a tour “virtual 360 degrees, which shows the innovative initiative we have with everything related to interior design and the visualization of spaces,” Arianna Pisani, CEO of Own Interiors, declared exclusively to DIARIO LAS AMRICAS.

“The idea with this proposal is to make a link between Venezuelan art with our furniture, which is luxury furniture that can be personalized and made to measure; as Arianna said, part of the experience is the tour 360 degrees where people can see these furniture – located in real spaces – as a possibility for them to be executed in the future in houses or different places,” added Mariangelica Garca, architect and manager of Own Interiors, who highlighted that this is the second time who participate in the CDW.

Artists’ proposal

With the presentation of Art with meaningthe urban mural created by Venezuelan artist Paul Amundarain, which aims to beautify the Araure Avenue in Chuao (Caracas) is officially inaugurated.

“I made the proposal together with my team: I was in charge of making the virtual design and they were in charge of painting it on the asphalt and part of the entrance wall of Own Interiors,” explained the plastic artist.

The alliance with Amundarain was based on his ability to merge the human and the technological in his artistic creations. For this creator, as for Own Interiors, the city environment is relevant because it enriches and humanizes it. Both sociology and physical space are important for this artist who is inspired by the urban environment.

In addition to this mural, as indicated at the beginning of the note, the furniture firm also joined forces with GBG Arts to exhibit a series of works by renowned Venezuelan artists such as Gregorio Siem and maestro Juvenal Ravelo. The exhibition showed the transformative impact of art on interior design, architecture and furniture.

In this way, Own Interiors has contributed to the beautification of the sector where it is based. It should be noted that this firm is dedicated to interior design and manufacturing of luxury furniture made in Europe, Portugal and Italy, with its main headquarters in Caracas.
