When is a moderator a moderator? This man says: If he can leave his tie and shirt in the closet…
At just 30 years of age, WDR radio presenter Philipp Isterewicz will be entering the nationwide TV stage on Tuesday and becoming the news anchor on Sat.1.
As the new face of the news, he wants to rejuvenate the successful breakfast television (19 percent market share) – and immediately rejects the tie and shirt: “I will definitely not wear a tie,” he tells BILD.
“It is very important to me that I sometimes only wear a shirt under my jacket. The stylist wants to make me a kind of Harry Styles of the news.” And he wants to moderate it, not just read it as a speaker.
“I will move to the hotel”
For his dream job, the Cologne native will be going to Berlin for two weeks a month with his friend David (29) and his dog Max (12) in his luggage.
“I’ll move to the hotel first. Luckily there are many dog-friendly places to stay.”
But Isterewicz hasn’t had to moderate that early: “The first issue starts at five to six. My alarm will go off at 3am – it’s going to be a huge changeover!”
He does not have stage fright, nor is he afraid of slips of the tongue – and he now gets tips from colleagues Ina Dietz (50) and Nina Moghaddam (41).
Philipp believes: “This is a job to get older.”
