Released in October 2021, Back 4 Blood quickly demonstrated its qualities to the public and established itself as a worthy successor to Left 4 Dead. Almost a year and a half after its release and 3 expansions later, the developers at Turtle Rock Studios finally announce some pretty big news.
Turtle Rock Studios is officially ending support for Back 4 Blood to focus on their new project
The developers of Back 4 Blood have effectively announced the end of support for Back 4 Blood. It is through a blog post posted last night the news was announced.
Despite some criticisms concerning the repetitiveness of the title, Back 4 Blood was entitled to a follow-up worthy of the name and offered no less than three major extensions throughout the year 2022, allowing it to renew the experience of the community. with new cleaners, new weapons and many other novelties. However, the path ends here for Back 4 Blood.
In the blog post, the devs particularly emphasize that Turtle Rock is a relatively small studio working on AAAs and in order to move on to their next project, they now need to stop tracking Back 4 Blood.
Back 4 Blood is still available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. The game is also included in Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

With three expansions – Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm and River of Blood – we’ve had a fantastic adventure together beyond the walls of Fort Hope. This phase of our war against the Hidden is now coming to an end.
Turtle Rock Studios is actually quite small for a studio that makes AAA games. There aren’t enough of us to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we’re preparing another game – yes, another game! Under these conditions, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back to the lab and get to work on the next big thing.
Intrepid cleaners, this is not a goodbye.
