Helene Fischer draws everyone’s attention on stage. But there is also a familiar face in the background of the Schlagerqueen shows: one of her background singers took part in the ESC in 2019.

Wiesbaden – Helene Fischer (38) is currently taking her big “Rausch” tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland to inspire hit fans. Your background singers are usually in the background. One or the other was even in the limelight: Helene Fischer’s background singer Laura Kästel (30) even took part in the ESC three years ago.

Helene Fischer’s background singer Laura Kästel represented Germany with the band S!sters at the ESC

This year in the ESC preliminary round, the fans decided against Ikke Hipgold and for Lord of the Lost to represent Germany. In 2019, however, the band S!Sters took over this task with the song of the same name. The duo consisted of Carlotta Truman and Laura Kästel. At the ESC in Israel, however, the two only came in second to last and broke up the band shortly afterwards. But Laura stayed true to the music.

Despite the ESC defeat with S!sters, Laura Kästel is now on Germany’s biggest stages – but behind Helene Fischer. The Wiesbaden native is not only the background singer of the Schlagerqueen. In addition, Laura Kästel, also known by the stage name Laurita Spinelli, has already supported artists such as Sarah Connor (42) and Lena Meyer-Landrut (31) at their concerts.

The phenomenon of Helene Fischer in figures

With more than sixteen million records sold, Helene Fischer is the most commercially successful singer in Germany and is therefore one of the world’s best-earning musicians. Her albums “Farbenspiel” and “Best of Helene Fischer” are among the best-selling music albums in the country. So it’s no surprise that the music prizes are thrown after her: Helene Fischer has an incredible seventeen echoes, eight golden hens, three bambis and two golden cameras. In 2015 she received the Bavarian Television Award for “The Helene Fischer Show”. Helene Fischer’s only Germany concert 2022 took place on August 20, 2022 in front of a record crowd of 130,000 fans in Munich – the biggest concert of her career. The first 100,000 tickets were already sold in 24 hours.

Not only Helene Fischer – Sarah Connor also relies on ESC participants in the background

In addition to the former S!sters member Laura Kästel, Sarah Connor also had another ESC loser in her ranks. Ann Sophie (32), who substituted in 2015 with her song “Black Smoke” for the actually chosen Andreas Kümmert and ended up in last place, is one of her background singers. The musicians got to know each other as part of “The Voice of Germany”. Ann Sophie took part in the casting show in 2021, while Sarah Connor was on the jury.
