“Barbie” continues to dominate the box office in its 4th week

The Warner Bros. film starring and produced by Margot Robbie and still playing in 4,137 theaters, refused to go down like most blockbusters have this year, surpassing $500 million in North America. The second half of the “Barbenheimer” duo, “Oppenheimer,” returned to second in its own fourth week after a week in third overall. The Universal Pictures’ Christopher Nolan-directed film grossed $18.8 million from 3,761 theaters for an overall domestic total of $264.3 million.

The top pair had little competition. The week’s only big release, Universal’s “The Last Voyage of the Demeter,” finished fifth with an opening weekend of $6.5 million.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” in its second week, earned $15.6 million domestically for third place, and the Jason Statham-starring shark sequel “Meg 2: The Trench” earned $12 million. 7 million dollars, falling from second to fifth place in its second week in theaters.

Below are estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to Comscore:

8. “Sound of Freedom,” $4.8 million.

9. “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part I,” $4.7 million.

10. “Jailer”, 2.6 million.
