Betty’s diagnosis. Ex-"The old"-Star as a patient

Darius Heller comes to the Karlsklinik with a cough and meets with Dr. Walden on a familiar face. The Darius actor should also look familiar to ZDF viewers, but not from “Betty’s diagnosis”.

The staff at the Karlsklinik in Aachen don’t have it easy with some patients. There is one like that in today’s episode “Betty’s diagnosis”: A man is standing in front of the reception, coughing and engrossed in an online chess game. Rike approaches him and asks if he’s there because of the cough. The answer is little more than a nod. Also to the next one question she finds out little.

“Are you interested in being helped in any way?” she asks, slightly annoyed. Darius Heller, who has probably just made a successful move, grapples this time with “Yes, of course, that’s why I’m here, isn’t it?” away. After an initial examination by Dr. Paul Eckart will then take over the newcomer Dr. Julius Walden and realizes that he already knows “Helli” from online chess.

The coughing chess fanatic is played by Thimo Meitner – who also embodied the computer scientist “Lenny” in “Der Alte”. His role in “Betty’s Diagnosis” is somewhat similar to that in the crime series. If he is fixated on chess here, as Lenny he had Asperger’s syndrome, which repeatedly presented him with challenges in the social context.
