It is approaching 15 years since Ubisoft first unveiled Beyond Good and Evil 2. The sequel game has since appeared sporadically here and there, but after another long period of silence – and recent cancellations from Ubisoft – many have wondered what is going on.

Now, however, the developer reports that work continues.

– The team works hard

In a statement to Eurogamer tells Ubisoft that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in development. The spokesperson for the developer did not otherwise share any new details.

– The development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 is underway and the team is working hard to achieve the game’s ambitious goals.

Thus, we are no wiser about the game than we were when Ubisoft released a gameplay trailer in 2018. Back then, the developer showed battle sequences and a few story details, but as usual the presentation was mostly vague.

Since then, game manager Michel Ancel has withdrawn from the project and from all game development. When the Frenchman left Ubisoft, the developer announced that Beyond Good and Evil 2 continued as before, and four years later the status is thus unchanged.
