Juarez City- In the first half of April 2023, the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) was 6.24 percent throughout Mexico, its lowest level since October 2021

With this result, this indicator accumulates six fortnights down.

The general inflation of the country had a setback of 0.16 percent compared to the previous fortnight.

In the same fortnight of 2022, biweekly inflation was 0.16% and annual inflation was 7.72 percent.

The subjacent price index presented an increase of 0.18% at a biweekly rate and an annual rate of 7.75 percent. In the same period, the non-core price index fell 1.22% fortnightly and grew 1.82% at an annual rate.

Within the underlying index, at a fortnightly rate, the prices of merchandise rose 0.31% and those of services, 0.03 percent.

Within the non-core index, at a fortnightly rate, the prices of agricultural products fell 0.07% and those of energy and tariffs authorized by the government, 2.18 percent. This was mainly due to adjustments in electricity rates within the warm season scheme in 18 cities in the country.
