The gestures, the looks, the photos, the phrases, and obviously the tweets, were also part of the VII Summit of Heads of State of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) that opened in Buenos Aires.

For this reason, the image published by President Alberto Fernández must be read in a political key. He did it, in a day that was crossed by the short circuits between Argentina and Uruguay and with the phrase: “Unity and Fraternity.”

One of the speakers at the summit was Luis Lacalle Pou, president of Uruguay, who said that some countries -which he did not want or did not dare to mention- do not comply -in his opinion- with democratic systems.

Tweet by Alberto Fernandez

Possibly, this is one of the several reasons why the Uruguayan president did not appear in the photo taken by the Chilean Boric, but which was published by Alberto Fernández together with other leaders of the region.

In the photo shared by the Argentine president also appear Gustavo Petro, president of Colombia; Luis Arce, Head of State of Bolivia; and Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, all representatives of the continental center left.

In addition, Fernández added a brief but eloquent phrase to the image: “Unity and fraternity.”
