Brokenwood returns to France 3 with new episodes from season 8, from Sunday October 1 on France 3. This light and entertaining detective fiction takes us to the lands of Lord of the Rings, in the magnificent and wild landscapes of New Zealand, in the town of the same name. In the heart of a town where everyone knows each other, Commissioner Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea) ensures the safety of the small community, assisted by Captain Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland) and Lieutenant Daniel Chalmers (Jarod Rawiri). The detective fiction also features Jarod Rawiri (Lieutenant Daniel Chalmers) who succeeds who left the series at the start of season 7, and of course, Cristina Ionda (Dr Gina Kadinsky) still plays the forensic pathologist whose heart melts – almost – secretly for the commissioner.

Brokenwood : Commissioner Mike Shepherd launches into new investigations

In this new round of new episodes, original investigations await the trio of investigators. The body of a recently deceased woman is discovered in the crate containing an Egyptian mummy at the local museum, one person is killed at a music festival, another is killed in the isolated beach community of Pateke Point. In other notable events, the world champion of “Spoofing” is found dead in a public park fountain, and Mike’s team becomes embroiled in a family feud involving gold, country dancing, revolvers and forbidden love. Finally, suspicion weighs on the city’s firefighters after the discovery of three charred bodies.

Brokenwood : one of the most popular detective series

Brokenwood is one of New Zealand’s best-selling series abroad. It has enjoyed great success, particularly in France, the United Kingdom and Denmark. A popularity which led the production to renew the program for a ninth season, which began broadcast last July in the island country. Brokenwood is sometimes called “The New Zealand Barnaby” with reference to Inspector Barnabyone of Britain’s longest and most popular detective fictions.
