We had reported that Arne Schönbohm had been dismissed as President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) because of controversial lobbying connections. The trigger was a report by ZDF Neo Magazin Royale. Now the successor is apparently certain: Claudia Plattner. The latter was or is previously responsible for the IT of the ECB.

A press release on personnel is still missing, several colleagues but consistently refer to information that is said to come from the federal government. There is currently no specific date for Plattner’s move from the position of Director General for Information Systems at the European Central Bank (ECB) to the BSI. Plattner had previously shared responsibility for the modernization of IT at Deutsche Bahn subsidiary DB Systel.
