And who doesn’t remember the story of Ryma Anane burned alive by her neighbour, for the one and only reason, having refused to marry him?. This is not a script from a Bollywood film, but rather the sad story of a young French teacher who dared to say No to a marriage proposal.
Indeed, this story dates back to a morning in October 2022, by declining this marriage request, the suitor in question decided to take revenge by dotting the young woman with gasoline and lighting the fire to set her on fire.
Following this attempted murder, Ryma was rushed to Makouda hospital in Tizi Ouazou, but in vain. The latter’s state of health deteriorated further and required treatment by a highly specialized hospital.
This is how Ryma’s family and relatives decided to send her to a hospital in Spain for treatment, a kitty was launched online to give the young woman the chance to live.

After spending several months in the La Paz hospital in Spain, Ryma finally manages to speak and tell her story, but above all the most painful moments of this drama she has experienced. After spending two weeks in a coma, the young woman was finally revived.
Following her awakening, Ryma was devastated and in a state of health which is still critical. Due in particular to his stage 3 and 4 burns which cover 70% of his body. Her awakening confused her. Indeed, the young woman thought she was married and with a child. According to Spanish doctors, this vision is a fairly common defense mechanism created by the patient’s brain.
During this stay in Spain, Ryma was accompanied only by his brother who barely spoke French. Fortunately, the young woman received invaluable help from a retired couple from Spain, who also speak French, and who came to the aid of the two Algerian brothers after seeing their story read.

In addition to the support of this couple, Ryma did not forget to thank the medical staff of the La Paz hospital, who all did to redraw the smile on her lips. Indeed, in her testimony, the young woman particularly remembered this little party that the medical staff organized around her bed, on December 31, 2022, when she could no longer move. Or the time when the young teacher wanted to take a walk in the middle of the street in Madrid, the nurses then brought her to a Mc Donald’s. And this, to eat his first meal after several months of hospitalization.

At this stage of her treatment, Ryma is doing much better, her burns are gradually recovering thanks to physiotherapy and the young woman is finally able to speak, but also to walk with agility. Today, the young woman is thinking about her future and the possibilities available to her to stay in Spain. Because, yes, Ryma wants to stay in this country, which gave her a sense of security and freedom and opened its doors to her during the most difficult times of her life. She even thinks of teaching languages like French and English to people who need it.
