The Municipal Police of cancun has complied with all the recommendations made by the Commission on Human rights of Quintana Roo, suspending and admonishing elements that have been observed for bad behavior.

César Enrique Morales Hernández, Director of Internal Affairs of the Municipal Secretary of Public Security, He said that they are in constant communication with Human Rights, in order to resolve all the complaints filed against the municipal elements.

“We work hand in hand with Human rights and the State Attorney General’s Office. The recommendations that Human Rights sends us are fully complied with, the truth is that we have no problem with this type of compliance, we have complied with each of the recommendations, ”he commented.

On Wednesday, the second Human Rights visitor, Armando Mendoza Rubio, reported that the police and agents of the National Institute of Migration led the number of complaints by citizens in four municipalities in the north of the state: Isla Mujeres, Lázaro Cárdenas, Benito Juarez and Puerto Morelos.

And there are two main causes of detention, said the visitor, such as arbitrary arrests and abuse of authority. Last January, 60 complaints were received, of which 25% were against policemen municipal and state.

“The fact that is repeated most frequently is against the police for arbitrary arrests, therefore, citizens make statements related to the fact that there was no reason to be detained and complain about the actions of the elements,” Mendoza said.

And for this reason, Human Rights issued 12 recommendations to the police authorities last year which, according to the director of internal affairs, César Enrique Morales Hernández, have been fully attended.

“We have received matters of economic amounts due to some issue of abuse. We have had recommendations for suspensions and it is executed through the Honor and Justice Commission,” he said.

He revealed that there are new cases pending to be resolved, among them is one to discharge a police officer who lost his weapon.

“The next meeting of the Honor and Justice Commission It’s next week, we’re always working on cases, arrests, reprimands, suspensions, if any, we have one on loss of weapons,” he said.
