Cepsa files Soraya Senz de Santamara

The Petroleum Company SAU, also known as Cepsa, has announced the incorporation of the former vice president of the Government, Soraya Without Santamaraas an independent director, becoming the only woman on the company’s governing body.

The Valladolid native will become part of the group of politicians who have been part of energy companies such as Felipe Gonzlez or Angel AcebesSenz de Santamara, who left politics after her defeat against Pablo Casado in the Popular Party primaries, has been an elected Councillor of the Council of State since 2018.

During the Rajoy Government she was the Executive spokesperson and chaired several ministerial commissions. She was the parliamentary spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress in the 9th legislature. Previously, she assumed the Deputy Spokesperson for the Constitutional Commission in Congress of the Deputies. She was also a technical advisor in the cabinet of the First Vice President and the Minister of the Interior of the Government of Spain.

Female presence at Cepsa

The former vice president will be an independent advisor to the entity and form part of the Audit, Compliance, Ethics and Risk Committee. With this appointment, the energy company is regaining female presence in its governing body.
