Check out the trailer for 'Dumb Money', the film about the GameStop case (and Reddit)

In the midst of a pandemic GameStop starred in one of the strangest stock market events in recent years (which is why there is already a movie titled Dumb Moneybut now we come to that). In 2020, the shares of the American company fell sharply… but at the beginning of 2021, they went to heaven to the point of being worth 400 percent more than its value before the pandemic.

Crazy, especially since this happened thanks to a group of everyday people on Reddit called wallstreetbets, who bought GameStop stock to inflate its value in (stock market investments) and prevent investors from doing their thing by betting on the bankruptcy of the company (that is, they lost a lot, a lot of money). HERE we tell you how things got at that time.

The result was that some of the Internet users who joined this “movement” saw how their portfolios ranged from thousands of dollars to tens of millions. And of course, a story like this had to be taken to the big screen… which we will see in 2023. Dumb Money starring Paul Dano.

Dumb Money and the GameStop case

As we told you, Sony put the batteries to assemble a GameStop case film directed by Craig Gillespie (director of Cruella y I, Tonya) starring Paul Dano as Keith Gillan ordinary guy who usually makes a video blog about his vicissitudes in the stock market.

This is how he discovers an advantage at GameStop, encouraging some of his followers to follow in his footsteps. Everything is going well until the wealthy (business owners, cutthroat investors) realize that things are going the way they planned.

Dano commands a huge cast in which we can see Shailene Woodley, Seth Rogen, Pete Davidson, Vincent D’Onofrio, America Ferrera, Nick Offerman, Anthony Ramos y Sebastian Stan. Here we leave you the official trailer of Dumb Money.
