The month of August has arrived and it is time for a very special film festival to be put together. Yes, we are referring to the International Film Festival for Children (…and not so Children) 2023 which is just about to start.

The dates and venues

Like every year since 1995, La Matatena prepares to put together this great festival with which the little ones can enjoy great cinematographic proposals. So far there have been 28 editions with which culture and the seventh art are promoted among minors.

And yes: everything is ready for the International Film Festival for Children (and not so Children) 2023 that brings a lot of tapes that everyone can enjoy to the fullest in hybrid format, that is, virtually or in person, from August 8 to 13.

That being said, what are the venues? If you want to see the films that will be presented in virtual format, you can do so through the open TV broadcasts of Channel 22, Capital 21 and Channel 11. These are the functions that will be on television:

Well, there is the programming for the virtual headquarters. Now let’s see which are the face-to-face venues of the International Film Festival for Children (… and not so Children) 2023. The International Film Festival for Children (… and not so Children) 2023 did it again and brings us a program of top-level national and international content. The sections are Feature Films, Animated Shorts, Fiction Shorts, Children’s Shorts, La Matatena Shorts and Documentaries.

For this year in the Feature Films section, foreign films such as the German one stand out Chaos on the school tripthe Canadian Adventures in Asha Land, Dancing Queen from Norway and Franz’s Stories as a collaborative Austrian-German tape.

There will also be special activities at the International Film Festival for Children (… and not so Children) 2023

The festival will have Camera-Etc Retrospectivewhere some short films made by girls and boys from Belgium will be shown, but with the Spanish dubbing of Mexican girls and boys.

And as a complementary activity to the official selection of films, there will be a special screening on Friday, August 11 at the Cineteca Nacional of the documentary The desert wagonby director Jorge Prior about a couple who have lived around the world with their mobile theater, entertaining families around the world against all odds.
