Today is Christmas Eve, together with the days of Christmas, the high point of the Advent season. Many photographers from the c’t photo gallery were out and about in the decorated cities, at Christmas markets or in nature in the run-up to Christmas in order to capture the special atmosphere. Others have made themselves comfortable at home with Advent coffee or in the photo studio, especially on the Advent weekends, and have translated their ideas of Advent and Christmas into atmospheric photos.

You can see the very different approaches and ideas for capturing this special time of year, when the days are getting shorter and the evenings longer, in the photo gallery. The recordings speak for themselves.

The entire c’t photography editorial team wishes you happy holidays, which this year have been particularly overshadowed by the terrible war in the Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the many people who not only fight for their freedom, but also to survive every day in the frost and cold, without electricity or heating and often only provided with the bare essentials. Christmas is not only the celebration of family, but also of peace and hope that this unimaginable atrocity will soon come to an end.

I wish you all a happy 4th Advent

With this atmospheric Advent wreath, photographer Rüdiger Linse last year wished all members of the c’t photo gallery a nice pre-Christmas period and above all (in the context of Corona) good health.
