Cline Dion speaks out after appearance at Paris 2024 opening ceremony

MIAMI.- After more than four years away from music, due to the rigid person syndrome she suffers from, the singer Cline Dion surprised with an impressive performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesin which he performed, from the top of the Torre Eiffel the piece The hymn of love by Dith Piaf.

There had been much speculation about Dion’s participation in the event, after she was seen in the City of Lights days before the ceremony; which generated great expectations among her fans, since her pathology has led her to distance herself from her profession.

The Canadian, who maintains a strong link with France, said in the last interviews she has given, as well as in her documentary I am: Cline Dionfrom Prime Video, whose goal was to sing to his audience again, since music has a great meaning in his life.

Under the lights of the iconic tower that illuminated the special Parisian night, Cline appeared wearing a long white silk dress encrusted with sparkling pearls and sequins. The dress, with a turtleneck, long sleeves and a wide train, was designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri of the house of Dior.

This is the singer’s second appearance at an Olympic event, as she performed at the 1996 Atlanta Games The Power of the Dream.

Message

The artist’s appearance was never confirmed by the ceremony’s organizers, so Cline did not publish anything regarding the Olympic Games until after the ceremony.

“I am honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 opening ceremony, and so overjoyed to be back in one of my favorite cities!”, with these words he began the post to celebrate being able to share his voice with the world again.

However, he did not want to be the center of attention, so the rest of his message was dedicated to the athletes competing in the most important sporting event.

“I’m so happy to celebrate these incredible athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance. You’ve all been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud, we know how hard you’ve worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going… My heart goes out to you!” she concluded.

Although it has not been confirmed that this performance is the start of a possible resumption of her tour, Cline Dion has shown that her perseverance and desire to overcome the autoimmune disease she suffers from has allowed her to gradually resume her lifestyle.
