This morning, the Institute of Culture of Corrientes and the Minister of the National Secretariat of Culture of the Republic of Paraguay signed a letter of intent for cultural exchange, in order to establish a relationship and cultural strengthening between both countries.
The signing of the agreement took place in the Green Room of the Government House, with the presence of the president of the Institute of Culture of Corrientes, Gabriel Romero, the lieutenant governor of the province, Pedro Braillard Poccard and the Minister Secretary of Culture of the Republic of Paraguay, Ruben Capdevila Yampey.
What is the deal about?
They signed the letter of intent that aims to establish the bases to achieve a fluid relationship, promote plans, develop projects and programs for the reactivation, strengthening and revitalization of the cultural territory.
The document signed by the Argentine and Paraguayan authorities consists of 21 articles. It highlights and strengthens the creation of experts and enables library cooperation publications and presentations, cooperation in the field of museums, archiving and cinematography, among others, according to regional sources.
The president of the Institute of Culture of Corrientes, Gabriel Romero highlighted the signature of intent, noting that “this is a formalization of a link that we already had and we were strengthening in the last visits we made to Paraguay.” He added that this link with Paraguay “occurs naturally” because “culturally we are united and we have many goals in common.”
In turn, he thanked the visit of the Minister Secretary of Culture of the Republic of Paraguay, who will be present on the fourth night of the 32nd Chamamé National Festival.
For his part, the lieutenant governor, Pedro Braillard Poccard, said that “it is an honor to represent the provincial government to strengthen the ties that are, in themselves, very strong between the two countries.” “We have a mother language that is Guarani and we are here to accompany you”. In addition, he made it clear that they will accompany “so that the genre of the neighboring country also has its distinction.”
