After what happened on January 8, with the attempted coup against the government of President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, the former Justice Minister of Jair Bolsonaro, Anderson Torres, was arrested in the last few hours.
The arrest took place at the Brasilia international airport.
Torres, who was in the United States, was Secretary of Security for the Government of the Federal District until last Sunday.
For this reason, he is being investigated for being the person most responsible for guaranteeing the integrity of the public buildings that were invaded by the followers of the far-right ex-president.
The truth is that the plane in which the former minister traveled arrived at around 7:30 a.m. (local and Argentine time) at the airport in the capital, where Torres was expected by the Federal Police, his lawyers told the press.
His arrest was ordered by the judge of the Supreme Court (TSF) Alexandre de Moraes who is investigating him for alleged “omission and collusion” during the assault on the headquarters of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches.
