The judges of the Court of Hearings of Santa Rosa, La Pampa, found the child’s mother, Magdalena Espósito Valenti, and her girlfriend, Abigaíl Páez, guilty of the crimes of aggravated homicide. For the judges Alejandra Ongaro, Andrés Olié and Daniel Sáez there is no doubt: both women were the murderers of the 5-year-old boy.
Espósito Valenti, who had also been accused of sexual abuse, was acquitted of this crime for the benefit of the doubt, which caused surprise in the lawsuit.

– “The perpetrator of this last injury could be determined with total precision, since the mark on the skin of the shoulder blade corresponds perfectly to the footwear that Abigail Páez was wearing at that time; This is not the case for the rest, mainly due to the characteristics of this type of intramural events, to which reference has already been made and which entail difficulties –although not the impossibility- when it comes to the historical reissue of the events”.

“Lucio can rest in peace”
The family lawyer, José Mario Aguerrido, spoke as he left the court and was dissatisfied with the fact that the mother had not been convicted of the abuse: “We are relatively satisfied, we want to see the grounds. We were surprised by the acquittal of her mother regarding the crime of sexual abuse. I want to read it well and we will analyze if we appeal it ”.
In addition, he added looking at the sky and between tears: “Lucio can now rest in peace, the most important thing was the responsibility for aggravated homicide, which indicates that they will receive life imprisonment.” Then he added: “I am very emotional, I lived with horror for two years.”
