Twenty documents from the DGSI will be partially declassified by the Minister of the Interior in connection with the death of Yvan Colonna in Arles prison last March.

Gérald Darmanin is preparing to partially declassify twenty documents from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) requested by the judges investigating the murder of Yvan Colonna by a fellow prisoner in Arles prison in March 2022, a-t -we learned Monday from a source close to the file.

On January 18, the National Defense Secret Commission (CSDN), requested by the Minister of the Interior, issued an opinion in favor of the partial lifting of the secrecy on twenty notes, asking to conceal certain passages, according to its publication in the Official Journal on Saturday.

“The minister is still following the advice of the CSDN and this will be the case on this file,” the source close to the file told AFP, confirming information from the monthly L’Essor de la Gendarmerie nationale.

These notes span from September 11, 2012 to March 2, 2022, the date of the attack on the Corsican separatist at Arles prison, where he was serving a life sentence for the assassination of the prefect Claude Erignac in 1998 .

His murderer, Franck Elong Abé, a radicalized detainee sentenced to several sentences including one of nine years for terrorist association, has since been indicted for terrorist assassination.
