Leave to come back better? A year ago, Selena Colas, the daughter of Delphine Colas discovered in Large families: life in XXL, changed his life. At just 18 years old, she left to complete her studies in Seattle, United States. She was reunited with her parents and five brothers and sisters last June, to the delight of her mother. “I found my Selena! We’re both enjoying it to the fullest. She’s doing great“, she confided. But this return to France was not very easy for the young girl.
“Selena had to readjust“: the return to French life was not always easy
This Saturday, September 24, Delphine Colas published a beautiful photo of her daughter Selena on Instagram. In the caption of this publication, she revealed that the latter had some difficulties upon her return to France, but that she ended up getting through it brilliantly. “Selena had to readjust to France upon returning from Seattle. This clash of cultures is not easy. Everything is so different”, confides the mother. “But she managed to cope with the emotional storms that follow returning after an extraordinary experience.“, she finally added. And Delphine Colas knows what she’s talking about. She also took the plunge to study abroad when she was young. “I remember as if it were yesterday my return after my year of university in Barcelona… I remember crying on the train, I loved my Eramus year so much“, she remembers before concluding by saying that she is “really happy” to have found her daughter, even if the latter is no longer as close to her as before.

Selena has left the family home since her return to France
Back from the United States, Selena did not stay long with her little family. In fact, the young girl packed her bags and moved during the summer to a small studio where she will live alone. “Selena takes a studio for her studies, near her future school. From here, it’s quite complicated and long without a car“, explained Delphine Colas. But fortunately for the mother, who is very close with her daughter, Selena is not very far from her parents, they can visit her often and even go to see her at work. The family remains united.
