They sue DeSantis for alleged delays in the delivery of information about his management

MIAMI.- Following the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis demanded “broad accountability” and “deep reform” of the United States Secret Service (USSS).

DeSantis criticized outgoing USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle for her “disastrous testimony,” calling her resignation “the beginning of what needs to be a profound reform at the agency.”

“She should have resigned immediately after the shooting. Joe Biden should have fired her anyway,” DeSantis said on social media.

“After his disastrous testimony (in a House committee), he had no choice, but this is just the beginning of a broader accountability,” the mayor of Tallahassee said.

DeSantis had last week called for Cheatle to be fired or resigned following the attack in Pennsylvania earlier this month, where a gunman armed with a rifle wounded Trump and three of his supporters.

“The agency’s biggest security failure of this century and no one is getting fired or resigning?” DeSantis asked on X.

The governor also demanded an investigation into security protocols at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally. “How did someone armed with a rifle get to the top of a rooftop 500 feet from the stage?” DeSantis asked.

The Florida governor accused the “DC ruling class” of “constantly avoiding responsibility for their mistakes” and said that “our country is in danger.”

DeSantis also stressed the need for a thorough investigation and the implementation of significant changes to prevent future security breaches.
