DGO, Claro TV Mais and others! How to watch TV channels on mobile? | TC Detective

Over time, the ability to watch TV channels went beyond traditional ways and arrived in new devices, such as mobile devices. In the current scenario, this possibility has expanded not only to open stations, but also to closed stations.

At a time when new exclusive platforms for watching TV via streaming, in addition to other existing solutions, how is it possible to watch TV channels on your smartphone? O Detective TudoCelular separated the main forms and tells you below.

One way is through platforms linked to traditional streaming operators. In other words, you need to have a conventional subscription from a provider and log in with your account in the corresponding service. Here we have some examples:

One of the main examples is the Claro TV Mais app. Former NOW Online, the application has the overwhelming majority of channels available on Claro’s traditional grid and allows them to be viewed directly from the smartphone.

You can also check premium stations and à la carte, that is, those subscribed separately from the standard price, such as Telecine, HBO, Premiere and Combate. Not to mention the on-demand content available in the catalogue.

Called at first DirecTV GO, DGO started to replace SKY Play Online as the official streaming service for SKY subscribers. In other words, if you subscribe to the operator, you can access the streaming service without any difficulty.

In addition to the well-known on-demand content and live channels, this platform is different because it contains some exclusive content, such as series and documentaries released throughout the year.

Another highlight here is the reduced delay compared to Claro’s streaming. While the DGO is around 20 seconds – or 10 seconds on Grupo Globo stations, after changes during the World Cup –, the competition offers a delay of over 40 seconds.

The Vivo Play App is another operator streaming option, in this case for those who have a Vivo plan. It consists of a platform that has a unified login among the provider’s other services, for those who have a plan to have easy access to broadcasters over the internet.

To complete, Oi Play closes the main quartet of options from major operators, with the possibility of watching the channels present in the traditional grid through the smartphone, when connecting with your main Oi account in the application.

In addition to access via the operator’s login, the platforms mentioned above – Claro TV Mais, DGO, Vivo Play and Oi Play – have the possibility of subscribing without depending on the contracting of a conventional package. This means that you can only hire the streams from these companies, for cell phone access in order to dispense with installation in your home.

They find other competitors in the Brazilian market. One of them – one of the first to enter the segment – ​​is Guigo TV. Bought by the Chilean Zapping in October 2022, the service features several ethnic channels in its grid, in addition to some sports channels – such as ESPN and BandSports – and news channels – such as CNN Brasil and BandNews. Guigo TV was also famous for performing ultra-fast streaming – without delay – in the broadcast of Paulistão 2021.

At the end of November this year, Multi – formerly Multilaser – also made its debut in streaming with Multi Mais, a platform in partnership with Watch Brasil to have TV channels and other services – such as HBO Max, Paramount Plus and NSports – in a single space.

Prime Video is another one that has already debuted in live channel transmission, by including the CNN Brasil signal to its subscribers, in addition to offering Premiere a separate contract, with access directly through the Amazon interface.

Amidst the growth of the area, some communication groups began to offer packages on their own platforms with live broadcasters to watch from your smartphone, wherever you want. These are the cases of Globoplay – with the plan “+ Canals ao vivo” –, of Star Plus – with ESPN signals – and of the duo HBO Max and Estádio TNT Sports – when showing the sports competitions whose broadcasting rights belong to Warner Bros. . Discovery.

To complete, there is Pluto TV, a free option from Paramount aimed at thematic channels with specific series or genres, or open channels with special programs.

As much as the streaming model has “stifled” manufacturers from launching cell phones with digital TV included, these models can still be found on the market or even for those who have already bought a unit in the past and still haven’t changed models until today.

Among the main cell phones launched with the technology, there are examples such as the Galaxy A51 – considered the most advanced that contains a TV –, the Galaxy A30s – a more modest version of Samsung –, the Moto G7 Power – with a focus on battery –, the LG Q7 Plus – one of the most resistant –, the K10 Pro and the K9 TV – two of LG’s oldest.

However, it is worth mentioning that the functionality only includes open channels and those from your location. Pay stations are not available on digital TV on compatible cell phones.
