Similar to March, the district of Hof is again affected by the Germany-wide strikes in local public transport, which will be carried out tomorrow, Friday, April 21, 2023, from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is reported by the district office in Hof.
According to the current state of knowledge, the bus lines in the district, which are operated by the rail bus companies RBO and OVF and possibly their subcontractors, are on strike. In addition, there are strikes or the effects of strikes in rail transport (DB, Agilis) and other bus companies in the region.
As far as the district office is aware, the bus lines of the private companies VB Bachstein, TBS and Viol will not be on strike. (For classification: The Bachstein company mainly serves the Zedwitz and Gattendorf area and also runs the Hof-Konradsreuth-Ahornberg route on behalf of the Bayreuth-Hof transport association. The TBS Touristik-Bus-System GmbH company serves part of the RBO route network in the Area Naila and surroundings. The Viol company serves the municipal area of Regnitzlosau with local parts.)
Against this background, unfortunately, school transport – also to the secondary schools for which the district of Hof is responsible – cannot be guaranteed on all lines on Friday. As far as possible, we advise that students organize private alternative transport and carpooling for the day.
Parents and students are also informed by the schools themselves about the applicable regulations. It can be assumed that schools will react to the strike again and offer hybrid or distance learning for students who have no way of going to school privately.
Even after the end of the strike, effects on public transport are to be expected.
