DLRG – German Life Saving Society

The lifeguards of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) provided help in tens of thousands of cases last year. They saved more people from drowning than they had in decades. In the hot summer of 2022, the volunteers were particularly challenged nationwide on the waters.

The association reported on this and other services of the largest voluntary water rescue organization in the world in a press conference. In the course of the event, the DLRG also takes a look at the challenges of the current bathing season.

The main statement will be made by the President of the DLRG, Ute Vogt. Also taking part will be the President of the DLRG Landesverband Bayern, Dr. Manuel Friedrich, and the chairman of the DLRG district association Augsburg/Aichach-Friedberg, Frank Lippmann.

The event will be streamed and can be followed live online. The live stream will be found on dlrg.de/bilanz.

After the press conference demonstrate flow rescuers the DLRG in the Augsburg ice channel to save people in fast-flowing waters. Current rescuers are water rescuers who specialize in strong currents, whitewater and floods.
