Doral International Art Fair returns for its second edition

MIAMI.- Recognizing the best of contemporary art in South Florida, the Feria International Art Doral (DIAF, for its acronym in English), returns in its second edition with the aim of bringing together artists, gallery owners, curators, critics, collectors and lovers of plastic arts with the aim of promoting multiculturalism, dialogue and social coexistence in the popular city.

“We are happy because this year we are going to see the success of DIAF materialized and duplicated last 2023. The alliance of the fair organizers with the city of Doral has been very important, since we are being able to reach the private sector more strongly and the galleries,” Christi Fraga, mayor of the city of Doral, told DIARIO LAS AMÉRICAS during the announcement of the second edition of the event held at the Trump National Doral Miami hotel.

“South Florida continues to grow a lot culturally and artistically, and Doral is not far behind. So we will continue working hard to consolidate ourselves as an artistic epicenter for our creators,” Fraga added about DIAF, a fair that will take place from November 7 to 10 at the Doral Cultural Arts Center.

Seeking to double the call of more than 3,000 people who were part of the first edition, the Doral International Art Fair returns to captivate with works of a wide range of styles and techniques, which will be presented by established and emerging artists. In addition, the event stands out for its strong educational commitment that will be expressed through talks and workshops led by experts who will share their knowledge about the world of art.

“Everything we do is to promote the growth of the city of Doral in all aspects. This is a joint effort between businessmen, the Doral mayor’s office, universities, gallery owners and the civil society that supports us. Through art we activate the economy, business, and education,” said Jesús Alberto Fuenmayor, executive director of the event’s organizing committee.

“This year comes with many surprises because Ella Fontanals-Cisneros visits us, a world-class collector with whom we will present her book ‘She is me’, and we will also celebrate the 100 years of Sofía Ímber, renowned Venezuelan journalist and cultural promoter. Without a doubt, it will be a fair that transcends the city and all its residents,” she added about the surprises with which DIAF hopes to bring together almost 40 galleries.

“The fair has grown a lot in one year. There is a high level, and this year it is reflected in more events and more galleries that are present. We are giving a platform to many emerging artists, since we want it to not only be an entertaining and familiar experience, but also for people to educate themselves and learn from the art world, which is wonderful,” said Adriana Meneses, daughter of Sofía Ímber and part of the DIAF curatorial committee.

Seeking to consolidate the city of Doral as an artistic destination in Miami, the fair can be enjoyed for free and stands out since – in addition to the central exhibition – it will offer workshops, performancespresentations, discussion panels and other activities related to collecting, curating and the art market.

“We are trying to recognize the cultural identity of Doral, and this event is an example of that,” concluded Christi Fraga.

The Doral International Art Fair will be held at the Doral Cultural Art Center, located at 8363 NW 53rd St, Doral, FL 33166.
