A speech in front of millions of French people, followed by a song sung in the streets of the capital. The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron was seen Monday evening in the streets of Paris singing a song alongside a group of young people, learned BFMTV from the entourage of the Head of State, confirming information from HuffPost. The song taken up by the president and the young people around him is Le Refuge, a traditional song from the Pyrenees, here taken up by a group supporting the Canto Project, a controversial project aimed at “saving, bringing to life and transmitting the memory of popular song and traditional”. The video was particularly shared and commented on by sympathizers of the extreme right like Stanislas Rigault – president of Generation Z and close to Éric Zemmour – without the young people who challenged the president necessarily being identified as being of this movement.
