1.Hohenemser Guggamusik Emser Palast-Tätscher as Austrian representation at the Ortenauer Fools’ Days in Offenburg.
Last weekend, the Emser Palast-Tätscher represented their hometown of Hohenems at the big meeting of fools in Offenburg. With over 4,000 Hästräger, many marches and carnival floats, this event was one of the largest in the Baden-Württemberg district.
The event was organized jointly by 3 guilds. Already on Saturday evening, numerous Guggenmusik bands made their way through the city center and entertained thousands of enthusiastic spectators on 2 outdoor stages and in the marquee. The freezing cold didn’t spoil the great atmosphere – only the instruments had to be kept running in order not to freeze.
At the reception of the Lord Mayor and the organized guilds on Sunday in the Knights’ Museum, old friendships were cultivated and new contacts were made. This was followed by the big carnival parade, which was broadcast live on television in glorious weather. Enthusiastic swaying and applauding spectators lined the parade route. Thanks to the recommendation of HEFARI (Fasnachtsverband Schweiz), the Emser Palast-Tätscher were able to take part in this great event.
