While many Fallout fans would like to see a sequel to Fallout: New Vegas see the light of day, the boss of Obsidian Entertainment reiterated his desire to work on a licensed game, enough to create history in the community.

A persistent will

After explaining last October that the studio would like the opportunity to develop a new installment in the franchise, Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart spoke with game pressurethe opportunity to ask again about the subject on the table.

But I’ll stick to what I said. I would love to do another Fallout before I retire. I don’t know when it will be, I don’t have a date for my retirement. It’s funny – you can say that I am already 52 years old, or only 52 years old. It’s one or the other, it depends on the day. I hope it will happen, but we have to wait and see…

Despite this strong enthusiasm, do not expect an announcement of a new project stamped Fallout not Obsidian for some time. Indeed, the studio having just released Pentiment, is currently working on the follow-up to Grounded, but also the highly anticipated Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2.

Our plate is pretty full with Avowed, Grounded and Outer Worlds 2. I don’t know when we’ll start talking about new games, maybe towards the end of next year. We just have to see what happens. That’s the best way to put it. There’s nothing in the plans, nothing on the sheet of paper that says that.

If the studio already has a lot of bread, it does not seem to have drawn up its roadmap, or at least obviously does not wish to communicate it. We can, however, dream of a future where Josh Sawyer, having worked on Fallout New Vegas and Pentiment, is working on a new Fallout title, a desire he recently expressed.
