A serious traffic accident occurred in Bludesch on Sunday afternoon. A 63-year-old car driver died.
On Sunday, December 25, 2022 at around 2:30 p.m., a 39-year-old car driver from the Bludenz district drove alone on the L50 from Schlins in the direction of Bludenz. In Bludesch-Gais, immediately before the intersection with the L87, he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, drove over the traffic island there and collided head-on with the driver’s side of a 63-year-old, also from the Bludenz district, on the L87 steered car.
The 63-year-old suffered such serious injuries from the impact that he died at the scene of the accident.

The 39-year-old was seriously injured and taken to Feldkirch Regional Hospital. The wife and passenger of the 63-year-old also suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Ravensburg Clinic with the Robin 1 rescue helicopter. The vehicles involved are believed to have been totaled.

The L87 and the L50 were closed until 5:15 p.m. The Bludesch and Nenzing fire brigades were deployed with eight vehicles and 69 emergency services, three flight rescuers, three emergency doctors, 15 emergency services and four police patrols.
