A large fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in Rio Grande City around 1:29 pm consuming three houses, a garage and two vehicles.
Several fire units, both from Starr and Hidalgo County, went to Iranl Street, in the Las Lomas neighborhood, to put out the flames that spread through various structures.
Fortunately no one was hurt. So far it is unknown how the incident started.
Firefighters from Escobares, Roma, Sullivan City, San Isidro, Mission, Palmview Fire, La Casita Fire Department, La Rosita Volunteer Fire Department and RGC Fire Department & Emergency Management, among others, also participated in the fire extinguishing efforts.
