In almost every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG I’ve always wanted to play. Its open-world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the wizarding world with its memorable new characters, challenging and nuanced combat, and a wonderfully executed Hogwarts student fantasy that has kept me glued to my controller for decades. of hours. It’s certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and a lackluster variety of enemies, but even those couldn’t break its enchanting spell on me.

Hogwarts and its surroundings are designed to the finest detail and give players a chance to really explore some of the most wonderful aspects of the Harry Potter novels. Open-world and Potter fans should feel right at home here, but anyone who doesn’t like having to clear a map of all landmarks is going to be in for a tough ride. Hogwarts Legacy is a fantastic addition to both the franchise and the RPG genre, and an adventure you won’t soon forget!

Hogwarts Legacy brilliantly captures the magic of the world of Harry Potter with its beautiful open world, endearing characters and thrilling combat. While the game’s open-world elements make it more dated than we would have liked, it’s otherwise the best wizarding world crafted into a video game.
In the negatives, the tester mentions the lack of variety in combat, open-world activities that feel dated, and NPCs outside of the school that are rather lifeless. The secondary quests are considered very good on the narration part.
